First Contest!

I know that I am not the only one who would grab photos first in event of a fire (after people of course!) Photos are magical in the way they capture so much of a moment and remind of what we value most. They gain value with time. I think about my photos of my grandparents or my children as toddlers and wish that I had taken more. A personal favorite of mine is of my youngest in a cherry dress. That dress was worn by her siblings when they were in that oh-so-adorable-when-I'm-not-making-you-pull-your-hair-out-with-exhaustion stage. They were small enough to embrace on my lap. Hugs came sincerely; my love could heal any wound. Joy was expressed with an all out cheering celebration and triggered by something as simple as a Loved One coming home. Whenever I see this photo, it brings it all back to me.

The Contest: Leave a comment on this post and tell me about a photo that has special meaning for you. (One entry per person, please. Entries accepted on this post through February 14. Winner will be selected randomly from the comments received and notified through this website, then will need to email me directly in order to receive the prize.)

The Prizes: Two 5 x 7s of your favorite image (you must have the rights to print it) that I will clean up in Photoshop...one print in color and one in black and white. Photo labs vary all over the place (nothing like getting a black and white with a distinctly pink hue or a portrait with slightly greenish skin tones...ugh!) and when I use one of my tested labs, you will get the highest possible quality.

The Twist: Because this blog is new and I am hoping to get the word out, if you tell a friend about the contest, and they enter with something like "Malissa A. told me about this and so I wanted to tell you about my photo...", if they win, then you BOTH will get the set of 5 x 7s. I am happy to send them out of state, too, so feel free to include family and friends anywhere.

Have fun!

Last year...

...and this year! I love designing cards based on the colors in the photo and the personality of my clients.

Darling "T"

This little sweetheart is the first to grace my new blog. As I worked with her and her mom I kept thinking back to my own firstborn and it made me wish I could go back and visit those early days again. It was intense, but there is nothing like it in the world. Now my firstborn is almost 12

And I was about ready to bring this little dog home with me in my bag. : )

Friendly reminder, the images on this blog are protected by copyright. Do not save the images in any form.

Over the next few weeks, I will be reviewing the images from the last holiday season, so check back often to see what is new~
